My fellow Americans, meet Classic Silent Gen leadership.
A crisis? A problem? Let’s have a meeting. Let’s discuss it. Let’s put a diverse committee together and make sure everybody’s opinion is heard. Let’s not take action. Let’s not take a position. Let’s have a committee review. Stall, stall, stall. He acts like he’s responding to Crisis, but he’s reacting as a classic Silent Gen – talk – review – talk more – committees – stall. Stall the hard decisions.
You want that as a president in a time of Crisis? Vote McCain.
From USNews, today, “It’s my belief that this is exactly the time that the American people need to hear from the person who in approximately 40 days will be responsible for dealing with this mess,” Obama said. “It’s going to be part of the president’s job to deal with more than one thing at once.”
But really? If you’d rather have more meetings and more committees and more discussions (without strong resolution and direct action), McCain is your man. I’m not saying Obama is a perfect candidate. But Obama is a GenXer. And GenXers (Nomads) are about action – today – reality – function – need. Silent Gen (McCain) are about due process – nuance – pluralism – administrivia.
